How To Choose The Best Patio Umbrella
A great way to relax is to soak up some sun-rays on your garden patio. But if you live in a reasonably hot climate you will know that to feel comfortable, you also need to take breaks and cool off in the shade. And this is where the humble patio umbrella comes into it's own.
Patio umbrellas are similar to a normal rain umbrella, except that they are usually going to be larger and thicker. But they come in all sorts of shapes and sizes in reality. In fact, there is such a large range on the market that there is likely to be a patio umbrella that tickles your fancy - whatever it is that you require and prefer and however fussy you are and unusual your tastes!
Regardless of the shape or style of your patio, it shouldn't be too hard to find one that compliments the area. For example, an offset patio umbrella is one where the pole is not in the center of the table. Instead, it is set off to the side. It can be attached to the patio rail or sometimes it has legs to become a freestanding, moveable umbrella. The advantage of this is that it covers more space over head while providing more table space below and the pole won't be right in the middle of the table, getting in the way
There is also an umbrella type called the market umbrella. This also goes into a hole in the center of the table like a traditional patio umbrella but it lighter and much more portable. They can also be used freestanding, which is ideal if you wanted to use it to shade you while lying on a sunbed, for example.
The gazebo umbrella is probably the most adaptable of them all. It normally has a net attachment that keeps bugs away which is particularly handy if you are eating food on the patio table. The gazebo is usually the most popular choice and it can easily be removed and washed in a washing machine.
It's always a wise idea before setting out to make your purchase to spend some time thinking about what type and color of patio umbrella will be the ideal one for your patio. Think about what type if use it will get and also try and decide what shade would best suit the surrounding colors. it's also worth considering if the umbrella is going to be subject ot extreme condition or not, and to buy one that is most suitable.
You may want to buy an umbrella that comes with a protective cover. Or, you may already have a storage space set aside so that you can put the umbrella away when it is not being regularly used. Be sure to know the dimensions of this space when going out to make the purchase, so that you can buy one that will fit in this space.
Try and find a patio umbrella that is fabricated from fade resistant material as prolonged exposure to the sunlight can quickly damage it. After going to all the trouble of finding the perfect umbrella, it would be a shame to have to start all over again!
